MR MEATS is a marketplace. Your butcher cuts and packs the meat; our driver brings it to you. We are responsible for getting it to you cold and on time.

Who you are buying from

MR MEATS (Pty) Ltd operates the platform. The butchery you order from is the seller of the meat and is responsible for its quality, weight and halaal status. Every partner on MR MEATS is halaal certified, and no pork is listed on the platform.

Ordering

  • One butchery per order — a driver collects from a single shop, so adding items from another butchery starts a new cart.
  • Minimum order R250,00in items. Displayed item prices already include MR MEATS' 18% service margin, plus a flat R45,00 delivery fee charged at checkout.
  • Meat is sold by weight. Actual pack weight may vary by up to 5% — you are charged the weight on the label.
  • A butchery may decline an order if an item has sold out. You are not charged for anything not delivered.

Cold chain

Orders are packed cold and carried in an insulated cooler box. Refrigerate on arrival and use within the date on the label. If nobody can accept the delivery and the driver cannot leave it safely, the meat comes back with them — we cannot leave fresh meat standing in the sun.

Ratings and butcher standards

After each delivery you rate the butchery. This is not decorative: a butchery whose average falls below 4.0, or which receives 3 bad ratings within 7 days, is automatically paused from taking new orders until it addresses the problem.

Rate honestly and describe what actually happened. We remove reviews that are abusive, name individuals, or are clearly not about an order.

If something is wrong

Contact support within 24 hours if your order arrives spoiled, short-weight, or incorrect. See the payments policy for how refunds work.

Using the app fairly

  • Don't place orders you don't intend to accept.
  • Don't abuse drivers or butchery staff — we will close accounts for this.
  • Don't attempt to scrape, disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.

Limits

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act. Where we are at fault, our liability is limited to the value of the affected order.
