MR MEATS never collects your location in the background. We ask once, only when you tap “use my current location”, and only while that screen is open.

Not active in this version

This build does not track drivers live. The map on the order screen is an illustration, and no real location data is collected from anyone. What follows describes how it will work when live tracking ships.

If you are a customer

The app asks for your device location in exactly one situation: when you choose to fill in a delivery address automatically. You will always see an explanation first, and you can decline and type the address instead — nothing else in the app changes if you do.

  • •Foreground only — we cannot read your location when the app is closed or in the background.
  • •Used once, to fill in an address. It is not stored as a location history.
  • •Never used for advertising, never sold, never shared with other customers.
  • •Your driver sees the delivery address you saved, not your live position.

Tracking your order

The live map shows your driver'sposition moving towards you, so you know when to expect the knock. That is the driver's location, shared with you for that delivery — it is not your location being tracked.

If you are a driver

Drivers share location so customers can track deliveries and so we can allocate the nearest job. That collection:

  • •only runs while you are on shift and online — going offline stops it;
  • •stops when the delivery is marked complete;
  • •is shown to the customer for their active order only;
  • •is kept for 30 days for delivery disputes and payment queries, then deleted.

If a driver's app collects location while in the background, that will be disclosed separately in the driver app before it is enabled, with its own permission request.

Turning it off

You can revoke location access at any time in your phone's settings, under app permissions. The customer app remains fully usable — you simply type your address in. The driver app cannot accept deliveries without it, because customers need to be able to track their meat.
